Within Subsea 7, our Pipeline Group team has the key responsibility to plan and execute offshore pipeline installation for the Oil and Gas industry and for the Energy transition.

 Who we are looking for?

Due to our continued growth, Subsea 7 have exciting permanent staff opportunities for Pipeline Installation Project Engineers to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team responsible for the full installation process from the procedure preparation right up to following through the offshore operations. Our engineers are responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation engineering on projects and tenders with specific focus on safe and cost effective installation operations.

These roles will be based in our Rio de Janeiro office and due to restrictions the preference would be for those who are either Brazilian nationals or those who have a current right to work in the country but we can give consideration to those who do not hold this depending on their level of experience.

You will be part of a team of installation engineers, dealing with different pipeline installation methods (S&J Lay, reel lay) for a package of work on either a project or tender. You will help support the efficient day-to-day running of the installation engineering team and provide regular operational reports on general project engineering activities, technical subject matters and resource management.

What does the role involve?

Duties of the Pipeline Installation Analysis Engineers can involve but are not limited to:

• Perform in autonomy installation analysis of rigid pipeline in S-lay, J-lay and/or Reel-lay,
• Accountable for planning of your analysis scope
• Responsible for ensuring that standard of engineering services provided complies with relevant company engineering standards with a clear focus on commerciality of engineering solutions
• Ensure installation analysis solution is fit for purpose while meeting client specifications
• Provides engineering support during operations with occasional periods offshore or on yard
• Promote safety culture and initiatives to the installation engineering team throughout the onshore and offshore delivery phases
• Participates actively to the Pipeline Group department know-how consolidation
• Proposes innovative solutions allowing cost & risks reduction

What do you need to have?

• You will have experience working within offshore pipelaying in a similar role, equivalent experience in similar projects may be considered.
• You should be proficient with Orcaflex and familiarity with systems such as Python, VBA and Abaqus is desirable
• You should be a strong communicator, who is comfortable working on their own and as part of a team
• You will have excellent report writing skills with the ability to produce accurate work, as well as the ability to prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management
• You will be highly motivated and be able to show a demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
• You should have a commitment to Continuing Professional Development
• This role may involve short spells of overseas travel so candidates may need to show a willingness and flexibility
